There will be plenty of opportunities to see fireworks shows this year — and not just on the Fourth of July. The professional aerial displays will start today and stretch through July 7. And if that’s not enough, throw in an old-fashioned patriotic parade for good measure.

From the Strip to Boulder City to Laughlin, here are some places to catch the action.

Today

The Plaza in downtown Las Vegas will have a fireworks show at 10:45 p.m. to cap off its Plaza Pool Nights celebration. Entry is free, but a paid buffet includes items such as barbecue chicken, brisket, watermelon and apple pie. Guests must be 21 or older.

Starting at 9:15 p.m., Caesars Palace will launch fireworks from the resort’s Julius Tower. The best public views will be from along the Strip in front of the casino. There also is a viewing party at the Venus pool.

The Rockets over the River celebration returns to Laughlin, with fireworks and patriotic music starting just after dark, about 9 p.m. The best viewing is from the Laughlin Riverwalk and from the riverfront casinos, organizers say. (Also held July 4.)

Tuesday, July 3:

The Las Vegas 51s will host the annual July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza during their baseball game against Sacramento at Cashman Field in downtown Las Vegas. Tickets are $17 to $30, and the fireworks will follow the game, which begins at 7 p.m.
