Petersburg, Fla., C.J. Cron’s three-run home run in the seventh inning carried Tampa Bay to its fifth straight win. The Rays have won 14 of their past 18 games.

Twins 8, Royals 5 — At Minneapoli­s, Brian Dozier hit a two-run home run, going deep for the second straight game to give Minnesota a boost on its way to its sixth win in seven games.

Athletics 8, Astros 3 — At Houston, Chad Pinder hit a three-run homer and Khris Davis added three RBIS as Oakland jumped on Lance Mccullers Jr. (10-4) early and cruised to a win over Houston.

Mariners 3, Angels 0 —At

Anaheim, Calif., Marco Gonzalez (10-5) pitched seven sharp innings, David Freitas hit his first major league home run and Seattle defeated Los Angeles. 3 for 16 with runners in scoring position and lost to Miami.

Dodgers 4, Padres 2 — At San Diego, Matt Kemp, Logan Forsythe and Chris Taylor each hit run-scoring singles, Kenta Maeda (6-5) pitched into the sixth inning while striking out nine and Los Angeles won for the third time in four games.

Rockies 19, Diamondbac­ks 2 —At Denver, Carlos Gonzalez hit two homers, starter German Marquez (8-8) also went deep for one of Colorado’s five home runs and the Rockies routed Arizona.

Pirates 2, Nationals 0 —At Pittsburgh, Starling Marte hit a tworun home run and Trevor Williams (7-7) combined with four relievers on a fivehitter as Pittsburgh won for just the third time in nine games.

Giants 5, Cubs 4, 13 innings —At San Francisco, Buster Posey singled off the right-field wall in the 13th inning for his fifth career game-ending hit, sending San Francisco past Chicago.
