Ohio State: 100-plus students reported doctor’s misconduct

More than 100 former students have provided firsthand accounts of sexual misconduct by the now-dead Ohio State team physician at the center of an ongoing investigat­ion, the university said.

The allegation­s range from 1979 to 1997, during most of Richard Strauss’ two decades on the faculty. Many of the accusers who have spoken publicly allege Strauss groped them or conducted unnecessar­y genital exams.

Strauss killed himself in 2005.

Figure skating: Nuraly Kiyasov, one of two men detained in Kazakhstan on suspicion of killing Olympic figure skating medalist Denis Ten on Thursday, confessed in the presence of an attorney, said authoritie­s, who are treating the stabbing as murder.

Hockey: The Washington Capitals resigned defenseman Madison Bowey, 23, to a two-year, $2 million contract, making right wing Tom Wilson the ateam’s lone remaining restricted free agent.

Olympics: After hosting this year’s soccer World Cup, Russian President Vladimir Putin said the country could bid for a future summer games. The country hasn’t hosted the summer games since 1980.

Soccer: Brazilian star Neymar rejected rumors he could leave Paris Saint-germain, saying he wants to win titles with the French club.
