Desert Oasis coasts to win in Legion regional

Josh Sharman and Dustin Mansell combined on a four-hitter to lead the Desert Oasis Aces to an 8-0 win over Greeley (Colorado) in the American Legion Western Regional in Denver.

Sharman allowed two hits and struck out six over four innings. Mansell struck out two in three scoreless innings.

Parker Schmidt had a two-run triple and an RBI double, and Zach Czerniawsk­i drove in two runs for Desert Oasis, which moved to 2-0 in the tournament. The Aces play League City (Texas) at 6 p.m. Friday.

Japan: Mexican infielder

Japhet Amador was suspended for six months by Nippon Profession­al Baseball after testing positive for the banned substances chlorthali­done and furosemide. Amador, 31, batted .269 with 20 home runs in 62 games this year for the Rakuten Eagles.
