Snyder, 78, lands new deal with Kansas State

Kansas State signed Bill Snyder to a new, more lucrative five-year contract that could keep the 78-yearold coach with the Wildcats through 2022.

The new deal increases his salary to $3.45 million this season with increases of $300,000 each of the next two, with a clause that allows for renegotiat­ion after 2020.

Snyder, who led the Wildcats from 1988 to 2005 and returned in 2009, has a 210-110-1 record.

Louisiana State: Sophomore linebacker Tylor Taylor, who played in all 13 of the Tigers’ games last season, was suspended after the university learned he had been arrested in connection with a firearms theft from a pawn shop in Cumming, Georgia.

Nebraska: A 17-year-old girl who had a pair of shoes believed to have been stolen from coach

Scott Frost’s home in late July was arrested. Several pairs of athletic shoes, football helmets and artwork still are missing, police said.

Kansas: Freshman offensive lineman Jacobi Lott, a nephew of Hall of Fame defensive back Ronnie Lott, is in stable condition after suffering an undisclose­d injury Wednesday during practice, university officials said.
