Chargers: Coach Anthony Lynn said he is unsure when defensive end Joey Bosa (bone bruise on left foot) will return, not declaring the Pro Bowl selection out for Week 9 but hinting Bosa won’t do any team or individual drills this week. Bosa, 23, initially was injured on Aug. 7 and hasn’t played since.

Bears: Three-time Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long (right foot) still is being evaluated after tight end Dion Sims rolled into him while blocking in the fourth quarter Sunday. Coach Matt Nagy said the injury is not an aggravation of a previous issue with Long’s right ankle.

Buccaneers: Rookie defensive tackle Vita Vea, Tampa Bay’s first-round draft pick, was feared to have sustained a torn ACL on Sunday, but an MRI examination revealed the ligament is intact.

Giants: Coach Pat Shurmur said he isn’t interested in teasing the possibility of a quarterback change during New York’s bye week. The Giants (1-7) have lost five straight behind Eli Manning.

Dolphins: Quarterback Ryan Tannehill (right shoulder), who has missed three straight games, has resumed throwing, but his status for Week 9 is undetermined, coach Adam Gase said.

Titans: Fullback Jalston Fowler, a fourth-round draft pick out of Alabama in 2015 who played with Tennessee through last season, rejoined the Titans, who waived linebacker Robert Spillane.
