Capitals’ Wilson back on ice after suspension sliced to 14

Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson had his 20-game suspension reduced to 14 by a neutral arbitrator and returned to action Tuesday.

Wilson already served 16 games of his suspension for an illegal check to the head of St. Louis forward Oskar Sundqvist in each team’s preseason finale. Wilson scored in the Capitals’ 5-2 victory Tuesday over Minnesota.

NBA: Brooklyn Nets leading scorer Caris Levert suffered only a dislocatio­n of his right foot and no fractures in what appeared to be a gruesome injury Monday, and he could return this season.

Q School: After the first of four rounds, Reflection Bay teaching profession­al Jeff Gallagher leads the PGA Tour Champions Q School First Stage at Primm Valley Lakes after a round of 5-under 66 by one shot over Jim Carter.
