Casey Desmith 45 seconds into overtime as the Buffalo Sabres rallied to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 5-4 on Monday.

Carter Hutton had 36 saves for Buffalo, which overcame a three-goal deficit and won a sixth straight game for the first time since 2009-10.

Tanner Pearson had a goal and an assist for his first points since Pittsburgh acquired him last week from Los Angeles.

At Ottawa, Ontario, Mike Hoffman scored, extending his point streak to 16 games, in his return to Ottawa after being dealt to Florida, and Juho Lammikko had four assists for the Panthers.

At Vancouver, British Columbia, Patrik Laine notched his sixth hat trick as Winnipeg dealt Vancouver its sixth straight loss.

At Nashville, Tenn., Ryan Johansen had a goal and an assist to back Pekka Rinne, who had 29 saves and improved to 9-0-1 against Tampa Bay.

At Toronto, Zach Hyman scored twice in the final 4:22 to back Frederik Andersen, who had 37 saves, as Toronto won its fourth in a row.

St. Louis, Calvin Peterson had 29 saves to post his first shutout in his third NHL start, and Matt Luff scored his first NHL goal.

At New York, Filip Chytil scored the tiebreakin­g goal 4:32 into the third period for New York in its sixth straight home win.

At Montreal, Lars

Eller scored with 1:26 left in overtime, and Alex Ovechkin had two goals for Washington.
