Ducks, in seven-game skid, fire coach Carlyle

-

Randy Carlyle was fired as Anaheim coach amid the Ducks’ seven-game slide, during which they have been outscored 378, with general manager Bob Murray taking over coaching duties through the rest of the season.

Carlyle, 62, is 384-256-96 in two stints with Anaheim.

He led the team to the Stanley

Cup in 2007 and three Western Conference final berths.

The Ducks made the playoffs in seven of Carlyle’s eight full seasons. But they’ve lost 19 of their past 21 games.

Maple Leafs: Left wing Tyler Ennis, 29, was activated from injured reserve after missing 17 games since Dec. 22 with a broken ankle. The 10-year veteran has seven goals and four assists in 33 games this season.
