Kings’ Barnes asymptomatic with COVID-19, in quarantine

-

Sacramento forward Harrison Barnes became the latest NBA player to reveal that he has coronavirus, making the announcement Tuesday and saying he has hopes to join his team for the league’s restart later this summer.

“Prior to the team leaving last week, I tested positive for Covid-19,” Barnes wrote on social media. “I’ve been primarily asymptomatic and am doing well. I’m quarantined and am abiding by the safety protocol until I’m cleared for action.”

Barnes is the only player who has started all 64 of the Kings’ games this season. To extend that streak, he’ll need to be cleared and arrive at Walt Disney World before Sacramento’s season resumes with the first of its eight seeding games on July 31 against San Antonio.

Spurs: Assistant coach Tim Duncan is not with San Antonio at Disney. The Spurs said he has remained home to help Lamarcus Aldridge with his rehab from season-ending shoulder surgery.

Nets: Brooklyn forward Michael Beasley has left the NBA’S bubble in Orlando due to a postive coronavirus test, according to ESPN. It is unclear whether Beasley will eventually rejoin the team.

Rockets: Guard James Harden arrived at the NBA’S Walt Disney Resort campus on Tuesday night, five days later than the rest of the team. The Rockets did not disclose a reason for Harden’s delayed arrival.
