Union power

My 9-year-old grandson asked me, “Nana, why can’t I go back to school if it is safe for the casinos to be open”? Good question. Every day, I’m reading in the paper about the dilemma of finding space for the 100,000 schoolchildren who cannot stay home and letting the buses run to take children to school to pick up lunch. Does anyone else think this is absurd? I then had to explain to my grandson about unions and their power.

My wife and I are employees of our company, and we are both still employed. However, we got notices from DETR indicating that we had filed for unemployment. Neither of us had filed, so this was either an error or fraud.

When we tried multiple times to communicate this to DETR officials, we were unable to. The web address given for this did not work (“too long to respond”) and the message on the fraud phone line always said “call back later.”

I completed a fraud reporting form on the website, but when I tried to submit it, the site didn’t allow me to log in. in his upper 70s is seeing leagues and teams (not the individual athlete) put social statements on their courts, uniforms and fields. Games should be a distraction from this madness, not contribute to it. I won’t watch the games and ads if this goes on. Shame on the NBA, WNBA, NFL and any of the MLB teams that kneel. Games should be games, not social commentary.

Also, do all these corporations that funnel millions of dollars to these rioting groups who are trying to eliminate capitalism realize that the mob will soon come for them? It is suicidal for these companies.

Lastly, I can’t wait to find out what the capital of Ohio will be renamed. Our history is disappearing. Very scary.
