Mets: All follow-up virus tests negative

Team’s next game slated for Tuesday

No additional members of the

New York Mets have tested positive for COVID-19 since the team learned of two infections that caused several games to be postponed.

The Mets said tests taken Thursday and Friday by the entire traveling party that returned to New York from Miami late Thursday came back negative.

Test results also were negative for close contacts of those who stayed back in Miami after Thursday’s series finale against the Marlins was postponed when two members of the Mets’ organizati­on tested positive for the coronaviru­s.

All three weekend Subway Series games against the Yankees at Citi Field also were postponed.

The team’s next scheduled game is Tuesday at home against the Marlins. The Mets said they’ll wait for more schedule informatio­n from MLB.

■ Angels: An autographe­d Mike Trout rookie card sold for $3.93 million Saturday, making it the highest-price trading card in history. The 2009 Bowman Chrome Draft Prospects Superfract­or card was sold online by Goldin Auctions. The purchaser’s identity was not publicized. The price tops the previous record $3.12 million paid for a 1909 Honus Wagner T-206 card in 2016.

■ Giants: Utility player Daniel Robertson was acquired from Tampa Bay for cash or a player to be named, and outfielder Hunter Pence was designated for assignment. Pence, 37, batted .096 with two home runs and six RBIS over 17 games in 2020.

■ Blue Jays: Right-hander Trent Thornton (inflamed right elbow) was removed from his start at Tampa Bay after one inning, and right-hander Matt Shoemaker (inflamed right shoulder) was placed on the 10-day IL.

■ Indians: Cleveland will face the Los Angeles Angels in Williamspo­rt, Pennsylvan­ia, in the next Little League Classic on Aug. 22, 2021. The event had been held every season since 2017 until this year.

■ Orioles: Left-hander Wade LEBlanc (sore left elbow) was removed from his start against Boston in the first inning, and catcher Pedro Severino (tight right hip flexor) exited in the seventh.

■ Pirates: Shortstop Kevin Newman (sore right lower abdomen) and first baseman Colin Moran (concussion protocol) exited early from Pittsburgh’s game against Milwaukee.

■ Rays: Right-handed relievers Nick Anderson (inflamed right forearm) and Chaz Roe (sore right elbow) were placed on the 10-day

IL, both retroactiv­e to Thursday.

■ Dodgers: Will Smith (inflamed neck) was activated from the IL, and fellow catcher Keibert Ruiz was optioned to the team’s alternate training site.
