■ CARDINALS 12-3, Tigers 2-6: Yadier Molina, wearing uniform No. 21 in honor of Roberto Clemente, hit a go-ahead two-run homer, the first of five St. Louis home runs in the opener. In the second game, Jeimer Candelario homered in the sixth and hit a go-ahead tworun single in the seventh to help Detroit gain a split.

■ Royals 11, INDIANS 1: Kansas City rookie Brady Singer (2-4) allowed one hit — .148-hitting Austin Hedges’ two-out single through an infield shift in the eighth — over eight innings in his ninth career start. Maikel Franco hit a three-run homer and a two-run single.

■ Angels 6, RANGERS 2: Mike Trout hit his majorsbest 16th home run, and rookie Jared Walsh’s third homer in five games was a go-ahead three-run shot. Dylan Bundy (5-2) struck out 12 in 7 1/3 innings for Los Angeles.

■ Braves 7, NATIONALS 6: Freddie Freeman homered twice, including a tying two-run shot in the seventh, and Dansby Swanson hit a go-ahead solo blast in the eighth for Atlanta, which overcame a 5-0 deficit.

■ ATHLETICS 3, Astros 1: Sean Manaea (4-2) took a perfect game into the sixth, ultimately allowing one run on two hits over seven innings in his fourth straight win, and Matt Olson hit a two-run homer.

■ PADRES 6, Giants 1: Jorge Ona homered for his first major league hit, and Manny Machado also went deep for San Diego, which lost starter Chris Paddack to a right ankle sprain but won its fifth in a row.

■ Red Sox 4, RAYS 3: Bobby Dalbec homered for his fifth straight game, the best such streak for a Boston rookie, and Rafael Devers hit a two-run homer and an RBI single for the Red Sox.

■ DIAMONDBAC­KS 5, Dodgers 2: Daulton Varsho hit a go-ahead RBI triple in the sixth, and Carson Kelly followed with a two-run homer as Arizona halted a fivegame slide.

■ MARLINS 7, Phillies 6: Starling Marte hit a tying three-run double in the eighth for Miami, and Jorge Alfaro hit a walkoff RBI single with two outs in the ninth.

■ Orioles at YANKEES, ppd.: Rain prompted postponeme­nt, with the game reschedule­d as part of a doublehead­er Friday.
