Ex-irish player, aide faces voyeurism, assault lawsuit

Ryan Ayers, a former Notre Dame player and assistant coach, was charged with voyeurism after allegedly photograph­ing multiple naked women without their consent over a four-year span. The 34-year-old also was charged with assault for allegedly hitting one of the women in the face. A four-year letterman, Ayers averaged 6.5 points in 117 games before graduating in 2009. He joined the Fighting Irish coaching staff in 2016-17 but was let go in September without explanatio­n.

■ Gonzaga: The top-ranked Bulldogs’ game Thursday against Santa Clara was postponed because of COVID-19 issues with the Broncos (6-2, 0-0 West Coast), and Gonzaga (10-0, 1-0) instead will host Brigham Young (9-2, 0-0). The Cougars’ originally scheduled game against Pacific (3-1, 0-0) was postponed because of virus issues with the Tigers.

■ Duke: Mike Krzyzewski didn’t coach the No. 21 Blue Devils on Wednesday but said he hopes to be out of COVID-19 quarantine in time to return for Saturday’s game. The 73-year-old and his wife have been in quarantine since Friday after a family member tested positive for the virus. Krzyzewski said he and his wife tested negative Monday.

■ George Washington: The Atlantic 10 game between the Colonials and Massachuse­tts slated for Wednesday in Washington, D.C., was postponed after a city curfew was imposed until 6 a.m. Thursday because angry supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol.

■ Villanova: Team activities were paused for a third time because of COVID-19 issues within the program, prompting at least three more games to be postponed. The No. 3 Wildcats (8-1) haven’t played since Dec. 23.
