No. 1 Stanford women rally in second half, beat Oregon

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Haley Jones had 18 points and six rebounds for No. 1 Stanford, which used an explosive third quarter to beat No. 11 Oregon 70-63 on Friday.

Francesca Belibi’s three-point play with 17 seconds left in the third capped a second 9-0 run that period by the Cardinal (10-0, 7-0 Pac-12), who were playing in Northern California for the first time since Dec. 13.

The Ducks (8-2, 6-2) lost again after falling out of the top 10 with a home loss to UCLA that ended their nation-best 27-game win streak. Oregon had won its past three meetings with Stanford but never has beaten a top-ranked team.

Stanford’s run spanning the final two quarters reached 13-0 before Sydney Parrish’s three-point play at 7:48 of the fourth.

TOP 25 MEN Purdue 55, No. 23 Michigan State 54:

At East Lansing, Mich., Trevion Williams scored 22 of his 26 points in the second half, including a go-ahead jumper with 4.5 seconds left, for the Boilermake­rs (8-5, 3-3 Big Ten), who overcame a 17-point deficit. The Spartans (8-4, 2-4), who led 31-16 at halftime, missed 11 of their last 13 shots while shooting 39 percent.

MOUNTAIN WEST Boise State 80, Air Force 69:

At Boise, Idaho, Abu Kigab had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Broncos (10-1, 6-0), who shot 52.5 percent and had a 30-21 edge in re

bounds in their program record-tying 10th straight win. A.J. Walker scored 23 points for the Falcons (3-7, 1-5), who led 40-33 at halftime. Each team used seven players.

At Lubbock, Texas, Justin Bean had 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Aggies (9-3, 6-0), who shot 50.8 percent and held a 53-22 edge in rebounds. The Lobos (3-6, 0-6), who shot 31.1 percent, trailed 45-18 at halftime.

Utah State 82, New Mexico 46: Fresno State 79, San Jose State 64:

At Fresno, Calif., Orlando Robinson had 23 points and 14 rebounds for the Bulldogs (4-3, 2-3) in their seventh straight win over the Spartans (2-7, 0-5). Fresno State, which trailed 45-42 at halftime, had a 47-24 edge in rebounds.
