Adelson announces partnershi­p with Oakland Raiders owner Mark Davis to move the NFL franchise into a new stadium in Las

Vegas. Parisian Macao opens.

2017

Company unveils plans to transform Sands Cotai Central into the Londoner. Adelson exits Raiders partnershi­p; team proceeds with stadium constructi­on with different funding.

2019

Sands announces Adelson

Las Vegas resorts shut down for 78 days in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Las Vegas Sands pays its 10,000 workers and the 1,200 employees working in the resorts’ 14 third-party restaurant­s for the entire closure.

2021

is undergoing treatment for non-hodgkin lymphoma but will remain at the helm of the company. Sands sells Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem to Poarch Band of Creek Indians.

2020

Adelson takes a medical leave of absence from Sands to resume his cancer fight. He died Monday at age 87.
