Jazz bully Clippers late, grab ninth straight win

LOS ANGELES — Donovan Mitchell scored 24 points, Rudy Gobert had 23 points and 20 rebounds, and the Utah Jazz rolled past the short-handed Los Angeles Clippers 114-96 on Wednesday for their ninth straight win.

Jordan Clarkson scored 18 points for the Nba-leading Jazz (24-5) in their 20th win in 21 games. After three tight quarters, Utah broke it open in the fourth to win a matchup of Western Conference powers — although it wasn’t a proper showdown with the Clippers missing injured stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

■ Wizards 130, Nuggets 128: At Washington, Bradley Beal hit two free throws with 0.1 seconds left and totaled 25 points and 10 assists for Washington, which won a third straight game for the first time since December 2018.

■ Warriors 120, Heat 112, OT: At San Francisco, Stephen Curry hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:15 left in overtime, set up Andrew Wiggins for a 3 on Golden State’s next possession and then delivered a final dagger from deep, totaling 25 points and 11 assists.

■ 76ers 118, Rockets 113: At Philadelph­ia, Joel Embiid had 31 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists for Philadelph­ia, which halted a three-game skid and moved to 12-2 at home.

■ Trail Blazers 126, Pelicans 124:

At New Orleans, Damian Lillard converted a go-ahead three-point play with 16.5 seconds left and totaled 43 points for Portland, which won its sixth straight.

OT: At Minneapoli­s, Domantas Sabonis had 36 points, 17 rebounds and 10 assists for Indiana, which overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit.

■ Magic 107, Knicks 89: At Orlando, Fla., Terrence Ross scored 30 points for Orlando, which held a 30-14 third-quarter scoring edge to erase a three-point halftime deficit.

■ Hawks 122, Celtics 114: At Boston, Trae Young had 40 points and eight assists for Atlanta, which shot a season-high 57 percent and halted a four-game slide.

■ Bulls 105, Pistons 102: At Chicago, Zach Lavine scored 15 of his 37 points in the third quarter to help Chicago overcome a 25-point second-quarter deficit.

■ Grizzlies 122, Thunder 113: At Memphis, Tenn., Ja Morant had 15 points, 12 assists and 11 rebounds for Memphis.
