Michigan slips past Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Hunter Dickinson had 22 points and nine rebounds for No. 3 Michigan, which held off a late flurry to beat No. 4 Ohio State 92-87 on Sunday.

After six second-half ties, the Wolverines (16-1, 11-1 Big Ten) led by nine with 23 seconds left. Two 3-pointers by Duane Washington and a layup by C.J. Walker got the Buckeyes (18-5, 12-5) within three with three seconds left.

Eli Brooks then hit two free throws and totaled 17 points for Michigan, which won its fifth straight. Washington had 30 points and E.J. Liddell 23 points and 10 rebounds for Ohio State, which trailed 45-43 at halftime.

■ No. 6 Houston 90, Cincinnati 52: At Houston, Quentin Grimes had 20 points for the Cougars (18-3, 12-3 American Athletic), who scored 22 points off 13 turnovers by the Bearcats (7-8, 5-5).

■ No. 11 Iowa 74, Penn State 68: At Iowa City, Iowa, Luka Garza had 23 points to reach 2,126, passing Roy Marble (2,116 from 1985 to ’89) as the top scorer for the Hawkeyes (17-6,

11-5 Big Ten). The Nittany Lions (7-12, 4-11) had a six-minute second-half scoring drought.

■ No. 21 Wisconsin 68, Northweste­rn 51: At Evanston, Ill., Micah Potter had 19 points to lead four double-figure scorers for the Badgers (16-8, 10-7 Big Ten), who dealt the Wildcats (614, 3-13) their 13th straight loss.

WOMEN

■ No. 2 South Carolina 76, No. 17 Kentucky 55: At Columbia, S.C., Zia Cooke had 21 points for the Gamecocks (18-3, 13-1

Southeaste­rn), who held the Wildcats (15-6, 8-5) to 35.1-percent shooting and had a 49-30 edge in rebounds.

■ Florida State 68, No. 3 Louisville 59: At Tallahasse­e, Fla., Morgan Jones had 26 points and 10 rebounds for the Seminoles (9-6, 8-6 Atlantic Coast), whose 9-0 fourth-quarter run subdued the Cardinals (20-2, 13-2).

■ No. 4 North Carolina State 82, North Carolina 63: atraleigh, N.C., Jakia Brown-turner had 25 points for the Wolfpack (15-2, 10-2 ACC), who avenged a Feb. 7 loss. The Tar Heels (11-9, 6-9) missed their first 16 3-point tries.

■ No. 5 Texas A&M 66, Mississipp­i 55: At Oxford, Miss., Kayla Wells had 18 points for the Aggies (20-1, 11-1 SEC), won won their eighth straight. The Rebels (9-9, 3-11) trailed 44-39 after three quarters.

■ No. 7 Baylor 77, Oklahoma

66: At Norman, Okla., Dijonai Carrington had 19 points for the Lady Bears (17-2, 12-1 Big 12), who shot 56 percent. The Sooners (8-10, 5-8) managed a 42-42 halftime tie.

■ Oregon State 71, No. 8

UCLA 64: At Los Angeles, Aleah Goodman had 20 points for the Beavers (8-6, 6-6 Pac-12), who held the Bruins (13-4, 11-4) to 27.6-percent shooting and had a 38-24 scoring edge in the paint.
