Oklahoma State beats Baylor

Duo of Anderson, Cunningham lead way for Cowboys

Cade Cunningham scored 25 points, Avery Anderson III added 20 and No. 12 Oklahoma State was nearly perfect from the foul line down the stretch in beating second-ranked Baylor 83-74 on Friday night in the Big 12 Tournament semifinals.

Rondel Walker also had 11 points for the No. 5 seed Cowboys (20-7), who will play No. 13 Texas for the title Saturday night.

Macio Teague scored 17 points and Jared Butler had 16 for the Bears (22-2), who had won 10 of their past 11 against the Cowboys after sweeping them in the regular season. Davion Mitchell also had 13 points for coach Scott Drew’s team.

The teams swapped the lead four more times over the final four minutes before the Cowboys put it away.

No. 3 Illinois 90, Rutgers 68:

At Indianapol­is, Ayo Dosunmu scored 14 of his 23 points in the first half for the Fighting Illini. Dosunmi shot 8 of 11 from the field, 7 of 9 from the line and added six assists and five rebounds.

No. 4 Michigan 79, Maryland 66:

At Indianapol­is, Mike Smith scored 18 points and set a Big Ten Tournament record with 15 assists for the Wolverines, who rallied from a 12-point first-half deficit.

No. 5 Iowa 62, Wisconsin 57:

At Indianapol­is, Luka Garza scored 24 points for the Hawkeyes, who rallied from a six-point halftime deficit. D’mitrik Trice led Wisconsin with 19 points.

No. 6 Alabama 85, Mississipp­i State 48:

At Nashville, Tenn., Jaden Shackelfor­d had 13 points, Jahvon Quinerly added 14 off the bench for the Crimson Tide. SEC player of the year Herbert Jones added eight points, seven rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two blocks in 17 minutes.

No. 7 Houston 77, Tulane 52:

At Fort Worth, Texas, Dejon Jarreau had his first career triple-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Quentin Grimes scored 15 points and Marcus Sasser added 14 as each connected on four 3-pointers for the Cougars.

No. 8 Arkansas 70, Missouri 64:

At Nashville, Reserve JD Notae scored a season-high 27 points and Justin Smith added 16 points before fouling out for the Razorbacks, who won their 12th straight SEC game. Xavier Pinson led the Tigers with 14 points.

No. 9 Ohio State 87, No. 20 Purdue 78 OT:

At Indianapol­is, Seth Towns scored six of his season-high 12 points in overtime and Duane Washington Jr. scored 20 points for the Buckeyes, who led by 18 at halftime.

No. 15 Florida

State 69, North Carolina 66: At Greensboro, N.C., Anthony Polite hit the go-ahead 3-pointer with 2:06 left and Balsa Koprivica had career highs of 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Seminoles.

No. 17 Creighton 59, Connecticu­t 56:

At New York, Marcus Zegarowski made two key baskets in a decisive ninepoint run late in the second half for the Bluejays. Zegarowski finished with 13 points.

WOMEN No. 6 Baylor 92, Texas Christian 55:

At Kansas City, Mo., Nalyssa Smith scored 26 points, Dijonai Carrington had 17 as the Lady Bears are two wins away from winning their ninth Big 12 Tournament in the last 10 years.

No. 7 Maryland 85, Northweste­rn 52:

At Indianapol­is, Alaysia Styles scored 15 points off the bench to lead a balanced Terrapins attack. Chloe Miller added 13 points and Ashley Owusu had 12.
