Magic end slide at nine, cool off Nets

Brooklyn’s six-game win streak halted

ORLANDO, Fla. — Aaron Gordon scored a season-best 38 points, Evan Fournier added 31, and Orlando held off Brooklyn’s furious fourth-quarter rally to win 121-113 on Friday. The Magic overcame Kyrie Irving’s season-best 43 points to end a ninegame slide and stop the Nets’ win streak at six games. Brooklyn also had its franchise-record eight-game road winning halted.

Orlando, which shot 51.2 percent and hit a season-best 21 3-pointers, led 103-84 after the third quarter. The Nets opened the fourth with a 16-1 run but got no closer than 104-100.

James Harden scored 19 points for Brooklyn, ending a streak of 14 straight games with at least 20. He missed 12 of 16 shots, including 7 of 9 3-point tries.

Gordon made 14 of 20 shots, including 7 of 8 3-point tries, to easily surpass his previous season high of 24 points. Nikola Vucevic added 22 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists for the Magic.

Orlando led 64-62 intermissi­on after making 13 3-pointers in the first half to tie a franchise record.

At Denver, Jamal Murray scored 34 points for Denver, including a tying 3-pointer in the final second of regulation and a key jumper with 10.3 seconds left in overtime. Nikola Jokic had 34 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists for the Nuggets in their eighth win in nine games. Zach Lavine scored 32 points for Chicago.

■ Trail Blazers 125, Mavericks 119: At Portland, Ore., C.J. Mccollum scored 32 points and Damian Lillard 31 for Portland, which overcame an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit. Luka Doncic had 38 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for Dallas.

■ Jazz 115, Raptors 112: At Tampa, Fla., Donovan Mitchell scored eight of his 31 points in the final 90 seconds for Utah, which held a 48-31 edge in rebounds and handed Toronto its seventh straight loss.

■ Warriors 116, Grizzlies 103: At Memphis, Tenn., Andrew Wiggins scored 40 points and Jordan Poole 25 while starting in place of injured Stephen Curry (tailbone contusion) for Golden State.

■ Suns 113, Timberwolv­es 101: At Phoenix, Chris Paul scored 20 points for Phoenix in its 16th win in its past 20 games. Karl-anthony Towns had 24 points for Minnesota.

■ Pistons 113, Rockets 100: At Houston, Frank Jackson scored 23 points for Detroit, which hit 14 of 29 3-point tries and dealt Houston its franchise-record 19th straight loss.

■ Kings 107, Celtics 96: At Boston, Richaun Holmes had 25 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks for Sacramento, which capped its first season sweep of Boston since 2007.

■ Spurs 116, Cavaliers 110: At Cleveland, Keldon Johnson had 23 points and a career-high 21 rebounds, the first 20-20 game in eight years for San Antonio, which didn’t trail.

■ Pacers 137, Heat 110: At Miami, Malcolum Brogdon scored 27 points on 10-for-12 shooting for Indiana, which made 20 of 36 3-point tries.
