Softball team rebounds in victory at San Diego State

UNLV scored twice on a ninth-inning error to beat host San Diego State 5-3 on Sunday and take two of three games in a Mountain West softball series. The Aztecs (14-9, 2-4) had tied the score at 3 in the seventh by scoring twice off two errors. Justine Federe homered and had a sacrifice fly, and Mia Trejo homered for the Rebels (16-9, 5-1), who held a 14-9 edge in hits. Samantha Diaz and Alyssa Trejo each had three UNLV hits.

■ Baseball: At Colorado Springs, Colo., Cayden Zimmerman hit a two-run double to cap Air Force’s six-run ninth as the Falcons edged the Rebels 11-10 to cap a three-game sweep. Air Force (10-8, 4-5) had six hits, including five for extra bases, in the ninth — kicked off by a Zimmerman triple. Austin Kryszczuk had a two-run single in a five-run eighth by UNLV (8-7, 6-6) and finished 3-for-4 with three RBIS.

■ Women’s soccer: At Johann Memorial Field, Clark product Ariana Reyes scored in the 53rd and 108th minutes to lead the Rebels to a 2-1 double-overtime win over Fresno State (3-3-1). UNLV (4-2-1) held edges of 18-5 in shots and 11-4 in shots on goal.

■ Track and field: At Austin, Texas, Jonon Young placed fifth in the triple jump (43 feet, 3.25 inches), and Cassondra Hall and Tianna Randle were seventh (11.38 seconds) and ninth (11.61) in the 100-meter dash in the Clyde Littlefiel­d Texas Relays.

■ Women’s tennis: At San Diego, Enpei Huang and Zita Kovacs each won in singles and was part of a doubles victory for the Rebels (5-5, 1-1 Mountain West) in their 4-3 loss to Fresno State (9-3, 2-0).
