ELLIOTT BLOCH

Elliott Arnold Bloch,

83, of Las Vegas, was born March 22, 1938 and passed away peacefully July 12,

2021. Elliott was born in Cleveland, son of Mildred and Samuel Bloch. The Bloch family moved to Burbank, CA

in 1950 where Elliott attended Hollywood High School. Upon graduation Elliott attended L.A. City College where he obtained his AA degree in electronics. Elliott worked at several small electronic companies until he finally found his home at ABC Television in Hollywood where he would work for over 30 years as a Broadcast Television Engineer. He worked on over 25 Academy Award shows, American Music Award shows, 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid, 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles and Sarajevo,

1988 Calgary Games, Pan Am games in Cuba and Dozens of Indianapolis 500 car races. He has won several Emmy Awards during his illustrious career.

Elliott was also an avid Amateur Radio Operator. He was first licensed in 1954 as KA6ELX eventually becoming K6ELX and once he moved to Nevada held the call sign W7EB. Elliott loved to operate contests and communicate with people worldwide as he has friendships with other hams from all over the world. He was the first American to operate a ham radio station in Havana Cuba in 1990 at the Pan Am games in over 50 years which he had to negotiate to do so with Fidel Castro’s right-hand man. Elliott will be remembered for his loyalty to family and friends, his love of his Orange Pumpkin hot rod and Corvette and for always trying to work the best deal he could get.on just about anything. Elliott is survived by his wife Leona, Ex-wife Shirley, son Steven (Mary) daughters Debbie (Errol), Stefanie, Vickie (Scotty) and 11 grandchildren and many cousins including his dear cousin Marlene.
