Alabama and Georgia confirmed that they are a cut above the rest of the college football world last week.

The No. 1-ranked Crimson Tide whipped then-no. 12 Mississipp­i 42-21, and the No. 2 Bulldogs crushed then-no. 8 Arkansas 37-0. Consequent­ly, Alabama and Georgia each received a one-point bump in the Westgate Superbook’s college football power ratings.

Ohio State would still be a 9-point underdog to Alabama and a 7-point underdog to Georgia on a neutral field, but the Buckeyes emerged as the clear No. 3 this week after rolling past Rutgers 52-13.

Ohio State was rated No. 3 last week as well, but five teams were within four points of the Buckeyes. Now, Ohio State is five points clear of Cincinnati for the third spot.

BIGGEST RISE

■ Tennessee jumped eight points to 82.5 and 42 spots, from No. 82 to No. 40, after blowing out Missouri 62-24 on the road Saturday.

BIGGEST FALLS

■ Wisconsin fell seven points to 82.5 and 23 spots, from No. 14 to No. 37, after a 38-17 home loss to Michigan.

■ Central Florida fell seven points to 79.5 and 32 spots, from No. 22 to No. 54, after a 34-30 road loss to Navy.
