Marion Yeaman Land, 82 years of age, passed away after a brief illness surrounded by family on October 10, 2021 in her home of Henderson, NV. The family will have a private memorial service. Marion was born in Topeka, KS on June 10, 1939 to Judith Van Dyne Yeaman and George Fishback Yeaman. After moving to Sedalia, MO, Marion attended Broadway Elementary and Smith Cotton High Schools. Marion completed her high school education at Gulf Park High School, in Gulf Port, MS. She attended the University of Kansas, Middlebury College in Vermont and the University of Missouri, Columbia where she graduated in 1962 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in French. Marion joined Donald Wayne Land in marriage on August 26, 1961 in Sedalia, MO. Marion and Don recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversar­y. They had two sons, Donald Cornett Land and George Yeaman Land. Marion was a beautiful and compassion­ate woman who was loved and cherished by all who met her throughout her lifetime. During her life she was a school teacher, a social worker and a long-time real estate agent in St. Louis, MO for Edward L. Bakewell and Gundaker Realtors. Marion’s greatest passion besides her grandchild­ren, was being a devoted cat rescuer, investing countless years to trapping, spaying, neutering and releasing feral cats. Over nearly 20 years, she successful­ly caught and adopted out 100s of cats in the Las Vegas area.

Marion was also a master landscaper, and a member of the “Drinking Liberally” club in Sun City/anthem and enjoyed many wonderful friendship­s with her fellow members. Marion is preceded in death by her father, George Fishback Yeaman (1958); mother, Judith Van Dyne Yeaman (1963); mother-in-law, Leta Bell Cornett Land (2010); father-in-law, James Charles Land (1986) and son, George Yeaman Land (February 16, 2000). Marion is survived by her husband of 60 years, Donald Wayne Land of Henderson, Nevada; son, Donald Cornett Land of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Lisa Land (Mike Williams) of Camino, CA; Grandchild­ren: Berkley Daniel Land; Donald Cornett Land, Jr; Victoria Van Dyne Land; Courtney Taylor Land; Sidney Francis Land; and Natalie Williams; as well as by her sister, Judith Yeaman Walthall of Venice, FL; niece Judith Perry (Tim) of Kansas City, MO; niece Ann Hogg (Mike) of Clearwater, FL; niece Kate Walthall of North Port, FL; and many other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Heaven Can Wait - Animal Society at www.heavencanw­aitlv.org. Marion’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to her nurses and caregivers Asha, Mary Jo, Terese and Abegail (of AHC Home Health & Hospice), as well as Grace, Antika and Kayla (from AR Complete Homecare, Inc.) for their long hours of loving care. Thanks also to Marion’s many friends that came to visit her numerous times and cheer her up over the past couple of months. The love and compassion Marion received by all of her family, friends, nurses and caregivers, made her transition into the next phase of her journey, a lovely and compassion­ate experience. She will be missed.
