Unbeaten Cardinals bury Houston after shaky start
Wide receiver Deandre Hopkins caught a touchdown pass against his former team, tight end Zach Ertz caught a TD pass for his new team, and host Arizona scored 31 unanswered points to roll past Houston 31-5.
The Cardinals remain the NFL’S lone undefeated team and are 7-0 for the first time since 1974. The Texans (1-6) have lost six straight games.
Kyler Murray was 20 of 28 passing for 261 yards and three TDS with one interception, his first since Week 3. Ertz, acquired Oct. 15 from Philadelphia, had a career-long 47-yard TD catch.
Arizona coach Kliff Kingsbury was back on the sideline after eight days away from the team because of a positive COVID-19 test. The 42-year-old, who is fully vaccinated, was cleared Sunday, several hours before the game.
■ Colts 30, 49ers 18: At Santa Clara, Calif., Carson Wentz threw two TD passes and ran for a score in driving rain for Indianapolis (3-4), which overcame a 9-0 deficit and dealt San Francisco (2-4) its fourth straight loss. Jimmy Garoppolo passed for 181 yards, lost a fumble, threw two interceptions and struggled to push the ball downfield as the Niners remained winless at home since Oct. 18, 2020. Jonathan Taylor ran for 107 yards and a TD for the Colts.
■ Falcons 30, Dolphins 28: At Miami Gardens, Fla., Matt Ryan threw for 336 yards, nearly half of them to rookie tight end Kyle Pitts, and Younghoe Koo kicked a 36-yard field goal as time expired for Atlanta (3-3). Pitts, who had seven catches for 163 yards, set up the winning kick with a 28-yard grab. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 291 yards and four TDS for Miami (1-6), which rallied from a 13-point fourthquarter deficit but lost its sixth in a row.
