Lakers blow 26-point lead, bow to Thunder

Lebron misses game with sore right ankle

OKLAHOMA CITY — Shai Gilgeous-alexander scored 27 points for the Oklahoma City Thunder, who rallied from 26 points down to beat the Los Angeles Lakers 123-115 on

Wednesday for their first NBA win of the season.

The Lakers played without Lebron James (sore right ankle), who sat out a second straight game.

Darius Bazley had 20 points and rookie Josh Giddey 18 points and 10 assists for Oklahoma City (1-4).

Former Thunder star Russell Westbrook had 20 points, 14 rebounds and 13 assists for his 185th triple-double before being ejected in the final seconds. Anthony Davis scored 30 points for the Lakers (2-3).

Oklahoma City led 118-115 with 9.7 seconds left when Carmelo Anthony intercepte­d an inbounds pass by Giddey. Anthony badly missed a 3-pointer that would have tied the score, and the Thunder rebounded.

Los Angeles shot 68 percent in the first quarter to go up 41-19, and the Lakers led 56-30 in the second.

■ Timberwolv­es 113, Bucks 108: At Milwaukee, D’angelo Russell scored 29 points, and Karl-anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards each added 25 for Minnesota, which hadn’t won in Milwaukee since 2013-14. Giannis Antetokoun­mpo had 40 points and 16 rebounds for the Bucks.

■ Kings 110, Suns 107: At Phoenix, Harrison Barnes hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer and totaled 22 points for Sacramento. Devin Booker had 31 points and Deandre Ayton 21 points and 21 rebounds for Phoenix, which didn’t trail in the first half.

■ Hornets 120, Magic 111: At Orlando, Fla., Miles Bridges scored 31 points for Charlotte, which shot 52 percent. Orlando had eight fourth-quarter turnovers after leading for most of the first three quarters.

Hawks 102, Pelicans 99: At New Orleans, John Collins put back a Trae Young miss with 55 seconds left to put Atlanta ahead to stay. Young scored 31 points, and the Hawks had 21 offensive rebounds.

■ Cavaliers 92, Clippers 79: At Los Angeles, Collin Sexton scored 26 points for Cleveland, which had a 57-36 edge in rebounds and limited Los Angeles to 35.6 percent shooting in its third straight win.

■ Trail Blazers 116, Grizzlies 96: At Portland, Ore., C.J. Mccollum scored 25 points for Portland, which led by as many as 26 and held Ja Morant (35 ppg) to a season-low 17 points.

■ Wizards 116, Celtics 107: At Boston, Montrezl Harrell scored 25 points on 10-for-13 shooting and had 10 rebounds for Washington, which went on an 8-0 fourth-quarter run.

■ Heat 106, Nets 93: At New York, Bam Adebayo had 24 points and nine rebounds for Miami, which had scoring edges of 48-34 in the paint and 31-4 on second-chance points.

■ Raptors 118, Pacers 100: At Toronto, Fred Vanvleet hit 6 of 7 3-point tries while totaling 26 points and 10 rebounds for Toronto in its first home win in 20 months.
