As the World Series returns to Houston for Game 6 on Tuesday, the odds to win the 2022 World Series already have been posted at multiple Las Vegas sportsbooks.

The Dodgers are the 5-1 favorites at the Westgate Superbook and +550 favorites at Caesars Sportsbook to win the world title next year after losing to the Braves in six games in the National League Championship Series.

“They were the favorite by a wide margin this year and went through a lot of injuries,” Superbook vice president of risk Jeff Sherman said. “They have the finances to spend and put themselves in position again next year.

“When you see them, before the trade deadline, acquire a Max Scherzer and Trea Turner, they have the ability to do things like that. So we have to keep them relatively low.”

Atlanta, a win away from its first world title since 1995, is the 10-1 second choice at the Superbook to win the 2022 World Series.

The Astros, New York Yankees, Tampa Bay Rays and Chicago White Sox are each 12-1 at the Superbook, followed by the San Diego Padres, Milwaukee Brewers and Toronto Blue Jays at 14-1.

“They’ve been betting some of the teams involved in deep postseason runs,” Sherman said. “The Braves, Astros and a little bit on the White Sox.”

The New York Mets and Boston Red Sox are each 18-1, followed by the San Francisco Giants at 20-1 and the St. Louis Cardinals at 30-1. The rest of the teams are 40-1 or higher.

Titanic loss

The line on the “Sunday Night Football” game between the Rams and Titans moved from Los Angeles -6½ to -7½ on Monday after it was reported that Tennessee running back Derrick Henry will have surgery Tuesday on his injured right foot and is expected to miss the rest of the season.

“We thought we were aggressive in opening the Rams -6½,” Sherman said. “But now it’s up to 7½, so it went across (the key number of ) 7 with Henry out.”

The Titans beat the Colts 34-31 in overtime Sunday to run their Afc-best record to 6-2. But the Superbook raised Tennessee’s Super Bowl odds to 16-1 and lowered Indianapolis to 40-1 after the Titans lost the NFL rushing leader.

Tennessee remains a prohibitive -3,000 favorite to win the AFC South at BETMGM.

“The Titans are going to win that division no matter what,” Draftkings sportsbook director Johnny Avello said. “They’ve already beaten the Colts twice, and they’ve got to play the Texans twice.

But losing Henry makes it a lot more difficult to win the whole thing.

“That guy is an amazing runner. He’s one of the best runners I’ve ever seen in the NFL. Now you’re looking at the Titans at 16-1 to win it all because they’re going to get to the playoffs. But what kind of damage are they going to do without Henry?”

Miller time

The Rams’ acquisition of eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller in a trade with the Denver Broncos didn’t impact their odds at the Superbook and BETMGM. L.A. is the +750 third choice at MGM to win the Super Bowl behind the Buffalo Bills and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are the 5-1 co-favorites.

But Miller did move the needle at Draftkings, which lowered the Rams from 8-1 to +650 to win it all.

“This Rams team is making some good moves,” Avello said. “With Miller and Aaron Donald, they’ve got bookends that’ll bury you. It’ll be interesting to see what those guys do against this Titans team that doesn’t have a running game any longer.”

Draftkings sportsbook is not available in Nevada.
