Don’t let Trump fool you again
The 14th Amendment states: “No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress
... who, having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same ...”
Factions throughout the Republican Party were involved in an attempt to stop the peaceful transfer of presidential power on Jan. 6. Former President Donald Trump, White House staff, senators and their staffs were active in Trump’s bogus “stop the steal” flimflam.
A command center for planners of the rallies in Washington, D.C., was set up. New information has arisen about allegations that many members of Congress were involved in Trump’s subterfuge and spurring the violence at the Capitol.
The House Select Committee investigating the subversive deeds has subpoenaed top Trump allies and activists taking part in the preparations for the event. Clearly, a lot of agitators set out to interrupt the certification of the Electoral College votes. It is not acceptable to threaten the life of the vice president as he was carrying out his assigned role in the Congress.
Trump was impeached for his role in fomenting the attempted coup against the United States government. His “Big Lie” about the stolen 2020 election has snookered his supporters, many of whom continue to contribute to the coffers of perhaps the greatest deceiver in U.S. history.
After being tricked once, one should be extremely wary, so that the person cannot trick you again.
