Barcelo, BYU take down No. 12 Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. — Alex Barcello scored a season-high 25 points, including four 3-pointers, and Brigham Young thumped No. 12 Oregon 81-49 on Tuesday night in the Phil Knight Invitation­al.

Te’jon Lucas added 12 points for the Cougars (3-0), who led by as many as 33 points.

Eric Williams Jr. led Oregon (2-1) with 12 points. The Ducks shot 32 percent from the floor and made three of 14 3-point attempts. Williams was the lone player in double figures for the Ducks, who came into the game with five players averaging 10 or more points.

■ Seton Hall 67, No. 4 Michigan 65: At Ann Arbor, Mich., Jared Rhoden scored 16 points to lead the Pirates’ (3-0) upset.

The Pirates trailed by 11 points early in the second half and took the lead with 1:15 left for the first time since late in the first half.

Hunter Dickinson had 18 points and nine rebounds for the Wolverines (2-1).

■ No. 5 Villanova 100, Howard 81: At Villanova, Pa., Brandon Slater hit all four 3-pointers and scored 23 points for the Wildcats (2-1), who shot 30 of 53 (56.6 percent) from the field. Kyle Foster led the Bison (3-1) with 19 points.

■ No. 6 Purdue 96, Wright State 52: At West Lafayette, Ind., Trevion Williams had 20 points and 13 rebounds and Zach Edey added 18 points and 12 rebounds for the Boilermake­rs, who are off to their first 3-0 start in three years. The Raiders (1-2) were led by Trey Calvin with 21 points.

■ No. 7 Duke 92, Gardner-webb 52: At Durham, N.C., Paolo Banchero started for the Blue Devils (4-0) two days after he was cited for aiding and abetting impaired driving, finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds. Lance Terry scored 15 points to lead the Bulldogs (0-3).

■ No. 11 Memphis 90, Saint Louis 74: At Memphis, Tenn., Tyler Harris had 18 points and Emoni Bates scored 16 for the Tigers (3-0). Terrence Hargrove Jr. led the Billikens (3-1) with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

■ No. 13 Kentucky 80, Mount St. Mary’s 55: At Lexington, Ky., Oscar Tshiebwe had a career-high 24 points with 16 rebounds as the Wildcats (2-1) made 34 of 64 from the field (53 percent). Josh Reaves and Jalen Benjamin scored 11 points each for the Mountainee­rs (1-3), which shot 34 percent.

■ No. 14 Alabama 73, South Alabama 68: At Tuscaloosa, Ala., The Crimson Tide’s (3-0) Keon Ellis scored 18 points, Jahvon Quinerly made a goahead layup with under three minutes to go. Charles Manning Jr. had 23 points for the Jaguars (1-2).

■ No. 15 Houston 67, Virginia 47: At Houston, Marcus Sasser scored 19 points for the Cougars (3-0), who shot 49 percent from the field.

■ No. 18 North Carolina 94, Charleston 83: At Charleston, S.C., Armando Bacot scored a career-high 24 points, tied his career best with six blocks and added 12 rebounds for the Tar Heels (3-0). Reyne Smith led the Cougars (3-1) with 19 points off five 3-pointers.

■ No. 25 Southern Cal 78, Florida Gulf Coast 61: At Fort Meyers, Fla., Chevez Goodwin scored 20 points for the Trojans (3-0), who shot 49 percent for the game.

MOUNTAIN WEST

Santa Clara 96, UNR 74: At Santa Clara, Calif., Parker Braun had 19 points on 9 of 10 shooting from the field for the Broncos (3-0). Grant Sherfield had 23 points and six assists for the Wolf Pack (1-2). Desmond Cambridge Jr. added 18 points.

WOMEN

■ No. 3 Maryland 98, Mount St. Mary’s 57: At College Park, Md., Angel Reese scored 18 points and had a career-high 15 rebounds, Mimi Collins scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds for the the Terrapins (4-0), who scored the game’s first 16 points.

■ No. 4 Indiana 72, Norfolk State 42: At Bloomingto­n, Ind., Mackenzie Holmes and Aleksa Gulbe each scored 22 points for the Hoosiers (3-0), who scored the final 17 points of the half to go into the break up 18.

■ No. 10 Louisville 82, Bellarmine 25: At Louisville, Ky., Emily Engstler scored 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for the Cardinals (1-1) never trailed in the contest.

■ No. 7 Stanford 77, Portland

55: At Stanford, Calif., Haley Jones had a triple double, finishing with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the Cardinal (2-1). Alex Fowler had 13 points for the Pilots (2-1).
