MARY JEANETTE MORGAN

Mary Jeannette Morgan, 90, passed away in Reno, Nevada, Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Mary was born in 1931 to Waldo and Sara Clegg in Enid, Oklahoma. She attended Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, and University of Houston, in Houston, Texas. She married Robert L. Morgan in 1952. They lived in four states over the course of their 47 years of marriage, having a child in each state. Ann Morgan was born in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina while Robert was in the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army. Sara Beth Morgan Brown was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Robert M. Morgan was born in Houston, Texas. Martha Lou Anderson was born in Las Vegas, Nevada where Mary and Robert moved after Robert accepted a job with Howard Hughes. Mary was fond of saying, after moving to Nevada, "I had four kids in four states. I'm not moving again!"

Mary was one of the founding members of the Assistance League of Las Vegas. She was also an active member of All Saints' Episcopal Church in Las Vegas, serving in almost every position as a lay member of the church. Mary worked for over 20 years in the public relations department of the Las Vegas Review Journal. She loved giving tours of the newspaper to students. Mary was also an avid poll worker and took pride that she never missed voting in an election.

Mary's husband, Robert predeceased her, as did her youngest daughter, Marti and Mary's sister, Alice Richey. She is survived by her daughters Ann Morgan, (husband, the Honorable Bruce Beesley) and Sara Beth Morgan Brown, (husband Gary Brown), all of Reno, Nevada; son Robert M. Morgan, (of Nerja, Spain); sonin-law Steve Anderson of Reno, Nevada; grandchildren Morgan Brown, (wife Yessica) of Ensenada, Mexico; Elizabeth Morgan-beesley and Robert Morganbeesley of Reno and great granddaughter, Sara Rose Brown Morales of Ensenada, Mexico and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Reno, Nevada at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. The Cathedral requires proof of full vaccination for attendees. Thank you for your understanding. Efforts are being made to set up live stream of the service. Interment will occur in Las Vegas at a later date. Donations in Mary's name may be made to Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, in Reno, Nevada or All Saints' Episcopal Church in Las Vegas.
