SUSAN "SUZIE" CHENIN

Susan "Suzie" Chenin passed away on October 21, 2021, at home, surrounded by family and friends shortly after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She was born on August 28, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1951 when her father, Dr. Joseph Chenin, was transferre­d to Nellis Air Force Base, where he was stationed during the Korean War. She graduated from Las Vegas High School in 1967 and was a proud Las Vegas resident for over 70 years. After studying at Arizona State University and Boston University, she returned home where she became very involved in the Las Vegas community. Suzie started her career in sales, working for the Las Vegas Sun. Subsequent­ly, she became both a residentia­l and commercial real estate agent/broker and appraiser at Chenin & Associates. She was also involved in hotel and casino marketing and numerous Las Vegas organizati­ons, including the Jewish community. She was a creative entreprene­ur, who had many talents including a calligraph­y business. Suzie loved animals and was very devoted to her dogs. She especially loved her family. She worked hard, loved to party and travel, had the cutest giggle and the most infectious smile. Suzie was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Joseph Chenin and

Irene N. Chenin, originally of Cleveland, Ohio; John Blink, the love of her life, partner and best friend for over 25 years of Las Vegas, Nevada; aunts, uncles, cousins, and a great niece all of California, Nevada and Ohio. Suzie is survived by two children whom she loved dearly; two grandchild­ren whom she adored; her loving brother, Dr. Stephen Chenin (Linda) of Henderson, Nevada; nephews, Dr. David Chenin (Melissa), Daniel Chenin (Angele), Dillon Chenin, all of Henderson, Nevada and Dr. Douglas Chenin (Armida), and niece, Darla Chenin, of California; great nieces and nephews, all of Henderson, Nevada; and many cousins of California, Nevada and Ohio. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her and those whose lives she touched, including her companion Bernard (Barney) Waber, of Las Vegas, Nevada. A celebratio­n of life and prayers for Suzie will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Congregati­on Ner Tamid, 55 N. Valle Verde, Henderson, NV 89074, for Las Vegas family and friends. A private family ceremony will be held at King David Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
