Charles Gilbert Hall III, also known as “Charlie,” was born to Charles Gilbert Hall II and Hazel Hall on July 28th, 1940, in Carbondale, Illinois and was raised in Terre Haute, Indiana. Charlie resided in Las Vegas, Nevada since 2000. Charlie, 81, passed away doing what he loved, walking in the park with his beloved dog Louie on Sunday, November 14th, 2021 in Las Vegas. Charlie received his Bachelor of Science in 1962 and his Master of Business Administra­tion degree in 1963 at Indiana University. In 1988 he attended the Stanford Executive Program at Stanford Business School. Charlie had a vast sports career. He was a member of the 1955 Babe Ruth League National Champion team; a four-year starter for the Gerstmeyer (“Tech”) Basketball Team; a member of the Indiana Basketball All Star Team and was known as

“Mr. Basketball” in 1958; Varsity Basketball at Indiana University, starter at Forward, 1960-1962; Varsity Baseball at Indiana University, 1960-1962; Member Alpha Tau Omega Social Fraternity; President of the Delta Alpha Chapter at Indiana University 1957-1958. Charlie enjoyed an outstandin­g career with Indiana University’s basketball team. A 3year starter, he captained the Hoosiers as the senior team’s leading rebounder in 1962; he was known for his ability to shoot a hook shot with either hand. Thirty years later, he was inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame. Charlie was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast after graduating from Indiana University. Charlie was a 40-year employee of John Hancock Life Insurance Company and received numerous awards for sales, management, and leadership. He was designated as Chartered Life Underwrite­r and Certified Financial Planner. Charlie represente­d many athletes as a financial planner and consultant. He also worked in Las Vegas for the last 21 years affiliated with numerous portfolio companies. The last 15 years he had the pleasure of working with Jimmy Lee of The Wealth Consulting Group. Up until his untimely passing, Charlie was still working with his clients and their businesses and personal financial planning. Charlie is survived by his wife, Christina Mcbryan Hall; son Charles (Chad) Hall IV, wife Michelle, and grandchild­ren Charles Hall V, William Hall, Hazel Hall, and great granddaugh­ter Rosemary Hall; stepson Brian Drewicke and wife Alison; stepdaught­er Donna Kanwischer and husband Judson; and seven step-grand children. He leaves behind his loving family, many very close friends of more than 75 years, associates, and longlastin­g clients from far and wide. Charlie’s service will take place at Kraft Sussman Funeral Services on Sunday, November 28th, 2021 at 2:00pm.
