GARY DENNIS MAUGER, SR.

Gary Dennis Mauger Sr, age 81, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Sunday, November 21, 2021. He was the oldest of two children born to Henry (Harry) and Dorothy Mauger on February 12, 1940 in Queens, New York, thereafter growing up in Levittown, Long Island.

Gary left home at the age of 17 to join the United States Air Force at Nellis AFB. He served honorably for five years after which he joined Teamsters Local #14.

Gary remained a Teamsters for nearly 48 years in several capacities and eventually retired after serving for 12 years as the Secretary/treasurer of Local #14.

There's no question Gary was an avid

sports fan claiming the LA Dodgers and LA Rams as his favorite teams. He played offensive lineman (#54) for Levittown Memorial High School. Gary's love and commitment for sports was so great he spent 20 years in Clark County as umpire and referee for Little League baseball, Pop Warner football, as well as high school baseball and basketball.

Gary was loved by all who knew him for his kindness, generosity, patience and sense of fairness.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Donna Williams. He is survived by his devoted wife of 29 years, Esperanza, his sister, Gail Dipietro, children, Gary Jr, Michael (Janet), Charlene, Mark (Wendalynn), Meaghan, Morgan and step-daughter Guadalupe

Ramirez, 12 grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren and 6 nephews and nieces.

Visitation and services will be held at LDS Chapel, 1001 N. Christy Lane, Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, December 11, 2021 (viewing 9 to 10 am; service 10:15 to 11:00 am). Graveside services with full military honors will be at noon on Monday, December 13, 2021, at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 5485 E. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89142, in memory of Gary Mauger.
