No. 2 N.C. State women rally, beat No. 6 Indiana

BLOOMINGTO­N, Ind. — Reserve Diamond Johnson scored 19 points for No. 2 North Carolina State, which used a late 11-2 run to top No. 6 Indiana 66-58 on Thursday.

The Wolfpack (7-1) haven’t lost since a season-opening setback to No. 1 South Carolina. Mackenzie Holmes scored 24 points for the Hoosiers (5-2), who led 23-21 at halftime.

■ No. 8 Maryland 82, Miami 74: At College Park, Md., Angel Reese had 26 points and 15 rebounds for the Terrapins (7-2), who notched their 29th straight home win and dealt the Hurricanes (4-3) their third straight loss.

■ Duke 79, No. 9 Iowa 64: At Durham, N.C., freshman Shayeann Day-wilson scored 19 points for the Blue Devils (7-0), who had a 45-35 edge in rebounds. The Hawkeyes (4-1) returned from a COVID-19 pause that prompted three games to be canceled.

■ No. 10 Louisville 70, No. 12 Michigan 48: At Louisville, Ky., Emily Engstler had 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Cardinals (6-1), who had a 25-2 run over the first two quarters. The Wolverines (7-1) had 24 turnovers.

Mountain West men

■ Saint Mary’s 60, Utah State 58: At Logan, Utah, Alex Ducas made two free throws in the final second and totaled 13 points for the Gaels (8-1), who trailed 20-16 at halftime. Justin Bean scored 19 points for the Aggies (6-2), who shot 37.7 percent.

■ Wyoming 77, Denver 64: At Laramie, Wyo., Graham Ike had 35 points and 14 rebounds for the Cowboys (70), who trailed 41-38 at halftime. The Pioneers (3-6) were outrebound­ed 39-28.

■ Washington at No. 11 Arizona, ppd.: COVID-19 protocols within the program for the Huskies (4-4) prompted their Pac12 opener against the Wildcats (6-0) to be put on hold.
