No. 13 Kansas State defeats No. 2 Kansas
Keyontae Johnson scored 24 points, including the go-ahead alleyoop dunk with 25 seconds left in overtime, and No. 13 Kansas State beat second-ranked Kansas 83-82 on Tuesday at Bramlage Coliseum to snap a seven-game series skid.
Desi Sills also scored 24 points, and Nae’qwan Tomlin had 15 points and 10 boards, as the Wildcats (16-2, 5-1 Big 12) hung tough after blowing a 14-point first-half lead and then squandering a chance to win the game in regulation.
Jalen Wilson scored a career-best 38 points for Kansas (16-2, 5-1), though he missed a crucial 3-pointer late in overtime.
■ No. 9 Tennessee 70, Mississippi State 59: At Starkville, Miss., Akai Zeigler had 24 points as the Volunteers (15-1, 5-1 Southeastern Conference) made 8 of 9 3-pointers in the second half. The Bulldogs (12-6, 1-5) struggled, shooting 19 of 57 from the field.
■ No 12. Iowa State 78, No. 7 Texas 67: At Ames, Iowa, Jaren Holmes scored 21 points while Gabe Kalscheur added 16 points for the Cyclones (14-3, 5-1 Big 12), who held the Longhorns (15-3, 4-2) scoreless from the floor for 9 minutes.
■ Wake Forest 87, No. 19 Clemson 77: At Winston-salem, N.C., Tyree Appleby scored 24 points for the Demon Deacons (14-5, 6-2 Atlantic Coast Conference), who won their fourth straight game. The Tigers (15-4, 7-1) got as close as six in the second half.

■ New Mexico 77, San Jose State 57: At Albuquerque, N.M., Morris Udeze had 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Lobos (17-2, 4-2), who have won three straight. The Spartans (12-7, 3-3) were held to 33 percent shooting.
■ Air Force 82, Wyoming 74: At Colorado Springs, Colorado, Beau Becker scored 23 points to lead the Falcons (12-7, 3-3), who shot 52 percent from the field. The Cowboys (5-13, 0-6) outrebounded Air Force 27-25.
■ Boise State 77, UNR 62: At Boise, Idaho, Max Rice had 29 points including six 3-pointers for the Broncos (15-4, 5-1), who outshot the Wolf Pack (15-5, 5-2) 52 percent to 44 percent.
