Local product helps Hornets deal Mavs third straight loss

Findlay Prep product P.J. Washington scored 28 points and Gordon Hayward 25 as Charlotte built a 21-point lead and held off host Dallas 117-109. The Hornets, who were without their three top scorers, won for the second time in seven games. Luka Doncic had 34 points and 10 rebounds for the Mavericks in their third straight loss. Kyrie Irving scored 18 points for Dallas after missing a game with a toe injury. He and Doncic played together for the first time since March 8. The Mavs are 3-7 with both in the lineup.

Curry 29 for Golden State, which overcame an 11-point deficit for its ninth straight home win. Joel Embiid hit 19 of 22 free throws and totaled 46 points for Philadelph­ia, which had won nine of its previous 10 games.

Pascal Siakam scored 32 points for Toronto, which won for the eighth time in its past nine home games and moved to 7-0 when holding an opponent to fewer than 100 points. Detroit (1658) lost its fifth straight and 16th in 17 games.

■ Celtics 120, Pacers 95: At Boston, Jayson Tatum scored 34 points, setting a Boston record with his 40th 30-point game this season, as the Celtics won for the fourth time in five games. Hall of Famer Larry Bird had 39 30-point games in 1987-88.

■ Wizards 136, Spurs 124: At Washington, Corey Kispert hit six 3-pointers and totaled 26 points to lead four 20-point scorers for Washington, which halted a four-game skid with its second win in nine games. The Wizards hit 15 of 30 3-point tries.
