Neal throws for six TDS as Knight Hawks win opener

Daquan Neal was 13 of 21 passing for 220 yards and six touchdowns to help the Knight Hawks beat Iowa 57-44 in the teams’ Indoor Football League opener at Dollar Loan Center. Wide receiver Quentin Randolph had five catches for 99 yards and three TDS for the Knight Hawks (1-0), who led 35-28 at halftime. Linebacker Jaquez Jackson had 12 tackles, including two for loss, and two sacks for the Knight Hawks, who shut out the Barnstorme­rs (0-1) in the third quarter and led 51-28 entering the fourth. Antonio Wimbush ran for 79 yards and three TDS on 15 carries for Iowa.

■ Lacrosse: At Michelob Ultra Arena, Jack Hannah, Rob Hellyer and Connor Kirst each had a goal and an assist in the Desert Dogs’ run of four unanswered second-quarter goals as they rallied past Rochester 12-7 in an NLL match. Hannah totaled four goals and two assists and Hellyer two goals and seven assists. Landon Kells had 44 saves for the

Desert Dogs (5-8), who halted a threegame skid. The Knighthawk­s (9-5), who trailed 6-4 at halftime, had a 51-41 edge in shots.

■ Soccer: At Irvine, Calif., Erick Torres scored in the 44th minute and Pato Botello Faz in the 62nd as Lights FC tied Orange County SC 2-2 in a USL match. The teams combined for three goals in a four-minute second-half span, with Milan Iloski’s 64th-minute goal tying the score for Orange County (01-2). The Lights (0-0-2) held edges of 12-11 in shots and 5-3 in shots on goal despite possessing the ball for only 37 percent of the match.

■ Hockey: At Thousand Palms,

Calif., Carsen Twarynski and Kole Lind each had a goal and an assist to help Coachella Valley top the Silver Knights 7-3 in an AHL game. Sheldon Rempal had a goal and an assist to put the Silver Knights (24-35-5) up 2-1 5:47 into the first period before the Firebirds (42-146) scored five unanswered goals. The Silver Knights were outshot 39-22 as their two-game win streak ended.
