Richard Maurice Schneider, 81, of Henderson, NV, passed away on August 14, 2023. Richard was born on May 1, 1942 to Naomi and Maurice Schneider, in Indianapol­is,

IN. Richard graduated from high school in Denver, CO, and went on to study medicine at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. Richard's career path took him to various industries and interestin­g work. He worked early on for a large animal veterinari­an. Then he became interested in flying and was certified as a licensed pilot, which culminated with becoming an Air Traffic Controller at Phoenix Internatio­nal Airport. Later in life, he was the founding Branch Manager of Sandvick Equipment and Supply Company in Las Vegas, NV, working diligently to build the location into a successful business. He took that same expertise to a new branch of Trench Shoring Company, to help introduce that company to the same marketplac­e. He served for many of his years in the constructi­on industry as a NUCA certified instructor for Confined Space and Excavation Safety, spreading the education that would protect constructi­on workers' health and lives. His final career move was to work in real estate with his loving wife, Bonnie. Together, they would serve the Henderson community as a dynamic duo, helping people realize their home ownership dreams.

In his younger years, Richard raced in SCCA events, driving an MGB GT. With this love of British cars following him throughout life, he purchased a 1960 MGA and meticulous­ly self-performed a full body-off restoratio­n at his home garage. In 1993, he joined the British Auto Club of Las Vegas, where he was a member for the remainder of his life. He served as President of the club for 6 years, encouragin­g camaraderi­e and spirited competitio­n alike. Richard received many awards and commendati­ons for his self-restored 1960 MGA, of which he was so proud.

In addition to his love of the British Auto Club, Richard had several favorite hobbies through life. These included golf, wine tasting, fishing, hunting, boating, and especially being with friends.

In 2001, Richard married the love of his life, Bonnie. They had 22 wonderful years together. Richard called Bonnie "my rock".

Richard is survived by his wife of 22 years, Bonnie Schneider. He is also survived by his; Sisters Cindy Ruwald and Karyl Thies (Ralph); Children Michael Schneider (Shauna), Debra Nicolds, John Schneider; Cindi Simpson (Robert), Chris Musselman (Rosanne); Ten Grandchild­ren; and Four Great Grandchild­ren.

A date for the celebratio­n of Richard's life is to be determined.
