Kathleen Ann Kelly (Dorn/speirer) passed away peacefully after a brief illness on October 10, 2023 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital surrounded by immediate family. Kathie, as she was known to friends and family, was born July 23, 1948 in St. Louis Missouri. Kathie was the second of four children raised by her mother Doris Jean and stepfather Charles Zimmer Dorn. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Mary Blair of Gresham Oregon and brother Robert Dorn of Las Vegas.

Kathie graduated from Wheaton High School in Wheaton Maryland in 1966. She lived briefly in Texas and Germany before settling in Las Vegas. A 50+ year resident of the Las Vegas Valley, Kathleen was first and foremost a loving mother and grandmother. Kathie supported her children in everything they did. Despite running her own business, she never missed a sporting event, recital or performance. Even after her children had grown, her support was unwavering, and she was delighted at the arrival of her grandchildren with whom she could carry on the tradition. Until her final breath she always put the needs of her family before her own.

Kathie was fiercely loyal to those lucky enough to call her friend and was a staunch supporter of her adopted hometown of Las Vegas. A small business owner, Kathie co-founded The Copy Shop with then husband Ronald Speirer. She later owned Dorn Printing, a company founded by her parents, which she ran for a time with her brothers Kelly and Robert Dorn. Kathie owned Dorn Printing until it closed in 2013.

Kathie was an active member of her community supporting local charities and organizations both personally and through her business. She was a devoted fan of all the hometown Las Vegas teams, a tradition that began in the 80's with the UNLV Runnin' Rebels and Bishop Gorman Gaels the alma mater of her children.

Kathie is survived by her daughter Khristin (Speirer) Heaney and husband Sean of Southampton NY; son Craig Speirer and wife Sarah of Henderson; grandchildren Lauren and Colin Heaney of Southampton, Emma and CJ Speirer of Henderson and Aubrie and Halie Sylvester of Henderson; brother Kelly Dorn of Las Vegas; and her beloved cat Tiggs.

Kathie's greatest pleasure was derived from supporting her children and grandchildren in any way possible. She was an enthusiastic and seasoned traveler, always up for a family trip regardless of destination. Her favorite places were always those near the ocean even if it meant a coat and boots for a winter beach walk in Southampton. Kathie was an avid fan of the theater, live music, and the ballet. A passionate spectator whether watching one of her brother's gigs around town, a Broadway musical, or a concert by a favorite band such as the Rolling Stones who she saw on multiple occasions.

Kathie was a cherished soul and will be missed immensely by all who knew her. Per her wishes, no public services are planned. Donations may be made in her honor to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, St. Jude Children's Hospital, American Heart Association, or American Lung Association.
