Tatum tossed, but Celtics net win over short-handed Sixers

Jayson Tatum had 21 points before being ejected for arguing near the end of the third quarter, and Derrick White also scored 21 as host Boston beat depleted Philadelph­ia 125-119 on Friday.

Without its top two scorers, Joel Embiid (illness) and Tyrese Maxey (illness), the 76ers led 116-115 with less than three minutes left before yielding the next eight points. Patrick Beverley had 26 points, eight rebounds and seven assists for Philadelph­ia, which has lost four of six.

Jaylen Brown and Al Horford each scored 20 points for the Celtics in their third straight win and fourth in five games.

■ Magic 130, Wizards 125: At Orlando, Fla., Paolo Banchero had 28 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists for Orlando, which tied a franchise record with its ninth straight win. Washington, which made seven of its first nine 3-point tries and led for most of the first half, lost for the 11th time in 12 games.

■ Grizzlies 108, Mavericks 94: At Dallas, Desmond Bane scored 30 points for Memphis, which won a second straight game for the first time this season. Luka Doncic, the league’s thirdleadi­ng scorer, sat out for Dallas for personal reasons. The Mavs shot a season-worst 37.0 percent.

■ Pelicans 121, Spurs 106: At New Orleans, Jonas Valanciuna­s had 24 points and 12 rebounds for New Orleans, which dealt San Antonio its 14th straight loss. The Spurs were without top draft pick Victor Wembanyama (tight right hip) for the first time in his rookie season.

■ Knicks 119, Raptors 106: At Toronto, Julius Randle had 20 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for New York, which matched a season high with its third straight win and improved to 10-0 against teams with losing records.

■ Nuggets 119, Suns 111: At Phoenix, Nikola Jokic had 21 points and 16 assists for Denver, which won its fourth straight. Jusuf Nurkic scored 31 points for Phoenix, which trailed by 17 in the first half.

G League

■ Kings 110, Ignite 103: At Stockton, Calif., Jordan Ford scored 28 points for Stockton (4-4), which shot 53.8 percent while hitting 13 of 24 3-point tries. Ron Holland had 32 points, nine rebounds and five steals for the Ignite (0-8), who trailed 59-46 at halftime and 84-82 after three quarters.
