Mcdavid, Oilers best Chicago, post 15th consecutiv­e victory

Connor Mcdavid had two goals and an assist, and Calvin Pickard stopped 27 shots in his fifth shutout and first since Nov. 23, 2018, as Edmonton blanked Chicago 3-0 on Thursday for the Oilers’ 15th straight win.

Leon Draisaitl had three assists as Edmonton became the fifth NHL team to win 15 or more consecutiv­e games. Pittsburgh holds the record with 17 wins in a row in 1992-93.

The Oilers are 23-3-0 in their past 26 games and have gone a franchise-record 13 straight games allowing two or fewer goals.

Petr Mrazek had 31 saves for the Blackhawks, who are 0-18-1 in their past 19 road games. Chicago has lost its past three overall.

■ Canadiens 4, Islanders 3: At Montreal, Sean Monahan scored his second goal of the night with 2:12 left to break a 3-all tie and had an assist as Montreal halted a three-game skid. Sam Montembeau­lt stopped 43 shots and assisted on Monahan’s first goal. New York, which had a 4626 edge in shots, trailed 3-1 after two periods.

■ Stars 4, Ducks 3, OT: At Dallas, defenseman Thomas Harley assisted on Miro Heiskanen’s tying goal with 9:29 left in the third period and scored on a 30-foot wrist shot 38 seconds into overtime in Dallas’ 11th straight home win over Anaheim dating to October 2015. John Gibson had 40 saves for the Ducks, who were outshot 44-21.

■ Red Wings 3, Flyers 0: At Detroit, Alex

Lyon had 29 saves in his third shutout and second this season, and Lucas Raymond assisted on goals by Dylan Larkin and Moritz Seider in Detroit’s three-goal second period as the Red Wings dealt Philadelph­ia its fourth straight loss.

■ Bruins 3, Senators 2, OT: At Ottawa, Ontario, Brad Marchand scored 1:48 into overtime to back Jeremy Swayman, who had 35 saves in Boston’s sixth win in seven games. Ottawa had a 37-23 edge in shots and erased a 2-0 deficit but lost for the second time in five games.

■ Predators 3, Wild 2: At St. Paul, Minn., Alexandre Carrier and Filip Forsberg scored 35 seconds apart to open Nashville’s three-goal third period, and the Predators halted Minnesota’s three-game win streak. The Wild had been 14-0-1 when leading after two periods.

■ Lightning 6, Coyotes 3: At Tampa, Fla., Nikita Kucherov had a goal and two assists for Tampa Bay to retake the NHL points lead with

83, one more than Colorado center Nathan Mackinnon, as the Lightning won for the seventh time in eight games.

■ Blue Jackets 5, Flames 2: At Calgary, Alberta, Alexandre Texier scored the first short-handed goal this season for Columbus, which handed Calgary its fourth straight loss — all at home.

■ Hurricanes 3, Devils 2: At Raleigh, N.C., Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen each had a goal and an assist for Carolina, which won for the third time in four games.
