Edey rules in paint as No. 3 Purdue rolls to win, keeps Michigan reeling

Zach Edey had 35 points and 15 rebounds to lead No. 3 Purdue past Michigan 84-76 on Sunday in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The Boilermake­rs (25-3, 14-3 Big Ten) held a 41-28 edge in rebounds. The Wolverines (8-20, 3-14) didn’t lead in the second half of their 10th loss in 11 games.

■ No. 7 Marquette 88, Xavier 64: At Milwaukee, Kam Jones scored 34 points for the Golden Eagles (21-6, 12-4 Big East), who won for the 10th time in 11 games. The Musketeers (13-14, 7-9) lost their fourth straight.

■ St. John’s 80, No. 15 Creighton 66: At New York, Daniss Jenkins scored 27 points for the Red Storm (16-12,

8-9 Big East), who had 24 assists and three turnovers. The Bluejays (20-8, 11-6) missed 20 of 26 3-point tries.

■ No. 1 South Carolina 103, Kentucky 55: At Lexington, Ky., the Gamecocks (27-0, 14-0 SEC) shot 64.4 percent and clinched their third straight regular-season league title. The Wildcats (11-17, 5-9) shot 33.8 percent.

■ No. 2 Ohio State 79, Maryland 66: At Columbus, Ohio, the Buckeyes (24-4, 15-1 Big Ten) shot 50.0 percent in their 14th straight win. The Terrapins (16-11, 8-8) didn’t lead after the first quarter.

■ No. 3 Stanford 81, Arizona State 67: At Stanford,

Calif., Kiki Iriafen had 22 points and 20 rebounds for the Cardinal (24-4, 13-3 Pac-12). The Sun Devils (11-17, 3-13) were outrebound­ed 56-27.

■ No. 4 Iowa 101, Illinois 85: At Iowa City, Iowa, Caitlin Clark had 24 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists for the Hawkeyes (24-4, 13-3 Big Ten), who hit 17 of 37 3-point tries. The Illini (13-13, 7-9) never led.

■ Duke 69, No. 6 North Carolina State 58: At Durham, N.C., Taina Mair scored 19 points for the Blue Devils (18-9, 10-6 ACC), who built a 22-point lead and never trailed. The Wolfpack (23-5, 11-5) shot 33.3 percent.

■ No. 18 Utah 74, No. 7 Southern California 68: At Los Angeles, Alissa Pili scored 23 points against her ex-team for the Utes (20-8, 10-6 Pac-12) in their first road win over a team ranked higher than 15th. The Trojans (21-5, 11-5) had won seven in a row.

■ No. 8 Virginia Tech 74, North Carolina 62: At Blacksburg, Va., Elizabeth Kitley scored 34 points for the Hokies (23-4, 14-2 ACC) in their 10th straight win. The Tar Heels (18-10, 10-6) yielded a 21-2 first-quarter run.

■ Washington 61, No. 9 Oregon State 51: At Seattle, Elle Ladine scored 23 points for the Huskies (15-12, 5-11 Pac-12), who never trailed. The Beavers (22-5, 11-5) were without Raegan Beers (broken nose), their top scorer and rebounder.

■ Kansas 58, No. 10 Kansas State 55: At Lawrence, Kan., S’mya Nichols scored 22 points for the Jayhawks (16-11, 9-7 Big 12), who closed on an 11-4 run. The Wildcats (23-5, 12-4) lost for the fourth time in seven games.
