Furor boils over Ronaldo’s apparent obscene taunt in Saudi league game

Al Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo is under heavy criticism after seemingly making an offensive gesture following his team’s 3-2 victory over Al Shabab in a Saudi Pro League match Sunday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. After the final whistle, social media videos showed the five-time Ballon d’or winner cupping his ear and repeatedly thrusting his hand forward near his pelvis, seemingly aimed at rival fans. The Saudi soccer federation opened an investigat­ion. Ronaldo, 39, has a league-high 22 goals this season.
