No. 1 South Carolina caps undefeated regular season
Kamilla Cardoso had 18 points and 14 rebounds as No. 1 South Carolina capped its second straight unbeaten regular season by topping Tennessee 76-68 on Sunday in Columbia, South Carolina.
The Gamecocks (29-0, 16-0 SEC) overcame 33.3 percent shooting to win their 47th consecutive regular-season league game, 57th in a row at home and sixth straight over the Lady Vols (17-11, 10-6).
Rickea Jackson had 29 points and eight rebounds for Tennessee. Her jumper with 4:51 left pulled the Lady Vols within 63-60 after they’d trailed by as many as 15 points.
Cardoso then hit consecutive inside baskets en route to her 29th double-double and 13th this season.
Cardoso played in front of her mother, Janete Soares, and and older sister, Jessica Silva, after they arrived from Brazil. Coach Dawn Staley facilitated their arrival, with help from U.S. Rep. James Clyburn, by getting visas approved.
■ Virginia 80, No. 5 Virginia Tech 75: At Charlottesville, Va., Kymora Johnson had 21 points and eight assists for the Cavaliers (15-14, 7-11 ACC), who rallied after the Hokies (23-6, 14-4) lost center Elizabeth Kitley to a knee injury with 16 minutes left. The 6-foot-6-inch Kitley, a two-time league player of the year, had 20 points, nine rebounds and four blocks in 22 minutes. Georgia Amoore hit eight 3-pointers and totaled 39 points for Virginia Tech.
■ No. 9 Louisiana State 77, Kentucky 56: At Baton Rouge, La., Angel Reese had 22 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks for the Tigers (26-4, 13-3 SEC) in their eighth straight win. The Wildcats (11-19, 4-12) trailed 33-27 at halftime.

61: At Storrs, Conn., Donovan Clingan had 19 points and 11 rebounds for the Huskies (26-3, 16-2 Big East), who shot 55.9 percent and clinched their first outright regular-season league title in 25 years. The Pirates (18-11, 11-7) were outrebounded 38-26 and outscored 52-30 in the paint.
