OF Langford, fourth pick of draft last year, set to break camp with Rangers

Texas outfielder Wyatt Langford made the team’s opening day roster, manager Bruce Bochy said. The 22-year-old, selected with the fourth pick of last year’s draft out of the University of Florida, has hit .377 (20-for-53) with six homers and 20 RBIS in 18 spring training games. He batted .360 with a 1.157 OPS in 44 minor league games across four levels last season.

■ Brewers: Outfielder Jackson Chourio made the team’s opening day roster, manager Pat Murphy said. The 20-year-old agreed to an eight-year, $82 million deal in the offseason despite having played only six games above Double-a. He has hit .302 with no homers and three RBIS in 53 spring training at-bats.

■ Orioles: Infielder Jackson Holliday was reassigned to minor league camp. The 20-year-old, the 2022 draft’s top pick and consensus No. 1 prospect, hit

.311 (14-for-45) with two homers, two triples, three doubles, two steals and six RBIS in 15 spring training games.

■ Diamondbac­ks: Left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (left lat strain) will open the season on the injured list. The 30-year-old, signed to a four-year, $80 million free-agent deal in December, is 82-53 with a 4.03 ERA in eight major league seasons with Boston and Detroit.

■ Athletics: Reliever Trevor Gott will undergo Tommy John surgery and miss the entire season and part of 2025. The 31-year-old right-hander, signed to a one-year deal in December, has a 4.65 ERA in 255 appearance­s with six teams since 2015.

■ Marlins: Right-hander Eury Perez (inflamed right elbow) will open the season on the injured list. The 20-year-old went 5-6 with a 3.15 ERA in 19 starts as a rookie in 2023.
