MY SON DIDN’T DO ANYTHING WRONG

Demario’s mom Speaksout: What really happened in Paradise? Demario Jackson’s mother reveals her son’s side of the story

Iam a victim.” Corinne Olympios was finally speaking out about what happened during filming of Bachelor in Paradise, when a drunken sexual encounter with Demario Jackson led two producers to file complaints alleging misconduct, abruptly suspending the show and sending the cast home. “[I] have spent the last week trying to make sense of what happened on June 4,” she said in a statement to Life & Style on June 14. “Although I have little memory of that night, something bad obviously took place.” In an attempt “to obtain justice,” she hired famed attorney Marty Singer and top Hollywood publicist Stan Rosenfield and was seeking therapy, she added, to deal with “physical and emotional trauma.”

Demario released a statement of his own later that day. “My character and family name has been assassinated this past week with false claims and malicious allegations,” he said, referring to reports that Corinne, 25, was unable to consent to sexual activity during their encounter. “I will be taking swift and appropriate legal action until my name is cleared.” The statement avoided specifics. But now, in an exclusive interview, Demario’s mother, Pinky Oliver, tells Life & Style what her son says happened that night. “They’re painting my son in a horrible light,” she says. “He’s hurt. He said, ‘ Mommy, I would never take advantage of anyone. In my heart I know I did not do anything wrong.’”

A HAZY NIGHT

After he returned from Mexico, Demario told his mom his side of the story. “He said everybody was having a good time that night, and that she was the instigator,” she says. “He said they were making out and kissing and everything, and one thing led to another.” Though he admitted they were both drunk, “he said, ‘ We both knew what we were doing. We were both in agreeance to this. If I felt like she wasn’t in her right mind or was too drunk, absolutely I would’ve stopped everything.’ ” He even told his mom he was too inebriated to have performed sexually if he’d wanted to. “He said, ‘Mommy, I didn’t touch her without consent,’” Pinky says.

But whatever happened that night left Corinne shattered. “She’s recouping

and she’s emotionally distraught,” her father, James, tells Life & Style. Adds her cousin, Marly Mensher, “She’s safe at home with the support of her family and friends.”

Demario is leaning on his family, too. “My son’s story hasn’t changed since day one,” Pinky tells Life & Style, adding that she believes video footage of the encounter will exonerate him. “He doesn’t have anything to hide.”
