CHRISTINA WANTS TO MARRY HER NEW MAN DESPITE HIS PAST

Rushing into a new romance, Flip or Flop’s Christina El Moussa lands in the middle of controversy

Christina El Moussa’s mood matched the sunny weather on June 9. Strolling through Orange County, Calif., the Flip or Flop star beamed as she held hands with new boyfriend Doug Spedding. Just a couple of months into the relationship, a smitten Christina is spending tons of time with Doug and his 10-yearold twin daughters. And, a source reveals, “He’s moving in with her.”

Things are about to get even more serious. “Christina wants to marry Doug,” the source, who has knowledge of Doug’s torturous relationship with his ex- girlfriend and mother of his twins,

Nicole Doucette, exclusively tells Life & Style. But that’s not such a good idea. Court and law enforcement documents indicate that Doug has been arrested several times on charges ranging from domestic violence to possession of methamphetamine. A 2013 police report alleges that Doug broke into Nicole’s home and hit her so violently, she was bleeding beneath one eye. If Christina thought she was getting out of a bad situation by divorcing her estranged husband and co- star, Tarek El Moussa, 35, she may not understand the controversy surrounding Doug and his numerous run-ins with the law, says the source.

VIOLENCE AND DRUGS

Christina already knows some troubling details of his past. The blond beauty, 33, first dated Doug (who has four grown children from two other relationships) more than a decade ago, and “before they started dating this time around, Christina had him show her his court records,” says an insider. If he showed her everything, that would include restraining orders and protective orders against him to keep him away from Nicole. The insider suspects the former used-car dealership owner — who, at 55, is more than two decades older than Christina — didn’t show and tell Christina everything.

If he did, Christina might have run the other way. Nicole and Doug were off and on from 1996 to 2010, and while she alleged things got terrifyingly physical then, says the source, documents show it was even worse post- split. In 2011, police responded to Nicole’s home and found Doug with a meth pipe stuffed into his right sock. Cops also found meth stashed in an Advil bottle in his car. Doug was charged for drug offenses and public records indicate that the charges were dismissed after Doug agreed to enter into an 18-month diversion program.

Police were often called to Nicole’s residence in 2012 and 2013, Life & Style has learned exclusively, with Doug entering his ex’s apartment when she wasn’t home and allegedly slashing the tires of a man she was dating. Nicole also found GPS devices on her car to track her whereabouts, claims the source, adding that Doug once stood over her bed telling her, “I should kill you right now.”

LOVE AND LIES

On top of it all, Doug has a history of infidelity. As In Touch magazine reported, he’s been seeing a girlfriend of three years, Tracy Diaz, even as he dates Christina. And

Nicole believed Doug cheated on her, the source says, even while she was pregnant with twins.

Those close to Doug insist he’s been more stable recently. But even if Christina knew all about her new man’s past, it might not be enough to keep her away. Says the source: “Doug is charismatic and very manipulative.”
