THE TRUTH ABOUT MY FEUD WITH BETHENNY

It was an epic battle, even by Real Housewives standards. On a recent episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, Ramona Singer’s long-simmering feud with Bethenny Frankel exploded into all-out war. Before the alcohol-fueled fight at castmate Dorinda Medley’s weekend home in the Berkshires was over, Ramona had accused her former friend of sleeping her way to the top and slammed her Skinnygirl empire. “You’re an opportunist. You use people!” Ramona raged at a calm Bethenny. “I accept people for who they are. You are broken. You are so f---ing broken you don’t even see it. And I feel sorry for you.”
Now Ramona’s feeling sorry again — for her own behavior. In an exclusive interview with Life & Style, the Life on the Ramona Coaster author admits she was wrong. “It was blind rage,” she says. “I know I
said vicious and horrible things, because I wanted her to feel pain. I wanted to pierce her, for her to show some emotion. That was so immature of me.” But despite the fact that the 60-year- old mother of a grown daughter hurled insults at the mogul — at one point telling her, “You’re the Bethenny b----y witch, that’s who you are” — she thinks Bethenny should forgive her. “I’m hoping we can work this out,” she says. “We both said a lot of hurtful things.”
FIGHTING MAD
Ramona knows she was overly aggressive, but she doesn’t consider Bethenny innocent. Bethenny’s swipe that Ramona wasn’t a good friend is what made her go off the rails in the first place, she says: “I wear my friendships like a badge of honor, and at that moment I felt like she was stripping me of my badge. I’ve always been there when she needed me.”
But Bethenny, 46, had good reason to be upset with Ramona. Earlier in the season, Ramona brought up Bethenny’s topless scene in the cheesy 1994 horror flick Hollywood Hills 90028, asking if anyone had talked to her daughter, Bryn, 7, about it. But Ramona insists she never meant
to hurt Bethenny with the comment. “My delivery sucked,” she says, “but I would never betray her. I’m the most supportive of women, that’s why I have like 100 girlfriends.”
Time will tell if Bethenny ever forgives her. But
for the record, Ramona says she takes back her insults. “She’s self-made. She did not sleep her way to the top — and I respect everything she’s done,” says the remorseful reality star. “I want to get past it, but I just have to give her space.”
