Selen a Gomez and The Weeknd were once inseparable. Not anymore. The pair have rarely been spotted together in recent weeks, and pals are blaming their busy schedules — and Selena’s insecurities. “They’ve gone from being madly in love with each other to being at each other’s throats in a matter of weeks,” a source tells Life & Style. Selena has been busy promoting her new hit “Fetish” while also spending time in the studio working on her third solo album, SG2. The Weeknd (whose real name is Abel Tesfaye) recently missed Selena’s 25th birthday because he had a scheduled performance at Lollapalooza in Paris. Though he jetted back to LA the next day for an hourlong lunch with Selena at 10 Speed Coffee, they emerged lo ok i ng sombe r. “They’ve hardly been spending any time together,” the source says. Things are only going to get tougher: The Weeknd, 27, is about to resume his Starboy: Legend of the Fall tour, which packs in 33 shows from September through December. “The distance isn’t good for Selena and Abel,” the source says. “She has trust issues and hates being apart from him.” Those trust issues also pop up when Selena and Abel, who first stepped out as a couple in January, are together, the source says. “Whenever Abel’s phone rings or he gets a text, Selena looks over his shoulder to see who it is,” leading to arguments, the source notes. “It drives him crazy,” adds the source. “They’re really on the rocks right now.”
