Here’s what the stars didn’t reveal as they celebrate 10 years of Keeping Up With the Kardashians
Ican’t even remember a time before Keeping Up,” Kylie Jenner says on the upcoming 10th anniversary Keeping Up With the Kardashians special. Most fans feel the same: Since the show’s 2007 debut, Kylie and her siblings Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall and Rob, along with parents Kris and Caitlyn Jenner, have become TV’S most influential family. But while we’ve watched them grow up, marry and even give birth on camera, they’ve kept many of their real secrets close to the vest.
Until now. The Kardashians are opening up, revealing their insecurities and regrets on the episode and in explosive new interviews. “The plan is to propel their brand even further by finally letting out some
of the family secrets,” an insider explains. But there’s a lot the reality stars are still hiding, and sources are exclusively telling Life & Style what they’re holding back.
After 10 years on TV, the Kardashians “are richer than they ever c ou ld’ ve imagined,” the insider notes, “so they have no regrets.” That wasn’t always the case. While Kim, 36, and Khloé, 33, were on board from the start, Kourtney, 38, tells The Hollywood Reporter she was horrified by the spotlight. “I remember in Season 1 being like, ‘I have to go [to] the bathroom,’ and I’d cry in there as quietly as I could,” she recalls. Kourt’s discomfort never really went away. “She threatened to quit many times,” the insider reveals, “but Kris made her do the show.” Even now, Kourt blames KUWTK for her split from baby daddy Scott Disick, 34. “She wonders if things would have worked out differently,” a source says, “if there weren’t cameras around all the time.”
REWRITING HISTORY
Kris’ relationship with Caitlyn, 67, also imploded on screen. Now they’re warring over whose idea the series was to begin with. While Caitlyn recently claimed it was hers, Kris, 61, says that’s “absurd,” and that she initiated a discussion with exec producer Ryan Seacrest. Kris is right, the insider says, and she’s “over Caitlyn trying to take credit.” Khloé doesn’t want any credit for her spinof f with ex Lamar Odom, 37, insisting the troubled bas- Kris believes gave Bruce the courage to transition to Caitlyn, says the insider.
ketball star wanted to do Khloé & Lamar, “and I let it happen because I wanted him to be happy.” Uh, really? “Khloé was definitely into it,” the insider says. “She was always a little jealous of Kim’s fame, and this was a chance for her to shine.”
It wasn’t always easy for Kim, though. The camera- loving star claims KUWTK made her feel insecure, especially when she was pregnant. “I looked like such a cow,” confides Kim, who also confirms she and husband Kanye West, 40, are trying for a third baby. “I would say, ‘ Try to film me more from [the] chest up, so it looks better.’”
But Kim and the rest of the clan learned to live with any negative attention. “It’s all about the money,” says the insider. “Everyone is laughing all the way to the bank.”
